Artist: Mark Innerst

A recent issue of Elle Decor had an article about New York artist Mark Innerst. His paintings remind me of a modern Monet, where there is an element of abstraction but also elements of realism. The colors are beautiful and looking at the paintings of New York city you aren't sure if these are current scenes or scenes from the 1920's.

This painting is probably my favorite. I love how you have the idea of skyscrapers and buildings, but in an abstract way. I love the illusion of a busy city at the bottom.
