The weather decided to tease us with a hope for spring this weekend. Temps warmed up to the mid to high forties and it was quite nice! Friday night we had Indian carry-out. We had planned to watch a movie, but Kohler fell asleep at 8:00 p.m. and I just let him sleep. He needed it.
Saturday early, Stoehr and Kaden went off to his swim meet. I took Kohler to and from practice, then we headed out to his high school meet at 10:30. They swam one of the best high schools in the area, a division higher than theirs, and won! Kohler did well, swimming the 50 free, 100 free, and two relays. The team went to Chipotle for lunch afterwards.
Back at home in the afternoon, Kohler napped while the rest of us hung out in the family room around the fireplace. Reading, computer time, painting, and games all took place. I also worked on taking several photos for my on-line photo class. Very quiet evening--we watched a few episodes of Battlestar Gallactica while the younger two watched a Scooby-Doo movie.
Sunday morning I was back at the pool with Kaden for the rest of his meet. He finished the meet well, coming in 13th overall for his age, which means he'll get a plaque! The afternoon was full of homework, guitar, saxophone, and clarinet practicing, and getting ready for our Super Bowl party.
The T.V. room downstairs needed to be rearranged to accommodate all our guests, so Stoehr took care of that and cleaning while I worked on the food. I made parmesan chicken wings, 7-layer dip with chips, and black forest chocolate cherry cake. Also had lots of chips and M&Ms. Everyone showed up around 6:00 p.m. and we all cheered the Packers on to a victory! There was sooo much food we couldn't finish most of it. It was great to have everyone over and we realized we need to do it more often.
