I don't remember when or where I first discovered the work of Stephanie Rausser, but when I clicked over to her site I was blown away! Her photos are full of so much love, emotion, color, and life!  I want to jump right into her photos and join in the action because it just looks like so much fun!

Back on the Wagon?

Boy once you fall off the blogging wagon, it's really, really hard to get back on! Somehow life has gotten in the way of blogging--too much to do, not enough time I guess! I'd really like to make an effort to post regularly again though, especially with summer just beginning!

Here are some things I'd like to blog about in the near future:

1. Our vacation to Florida.

2. End of school, end of an era.

3. Summer plans.

4. Summer "musts".

5. Fave summer meals.

6. Happenings in the garden.

I need to get into a regular blogging schedule I think. Hopefully that will help. Once you miss a few days you start to feel so behind that it gets harder and harder to start up again. So I'll not worry about what I've missed, but just start from today. Deal?!

Happy Birthday to Me!

yes, my birthday came and went on Sunday. I've always loved having a May Day birthday!

Here's the list I made of things I wanted to do on my birthday:

1. brunch at home (I made Paula Deen's Baked French Toast the night before).

2. farmer's market (I bought plants for the garden, baked goods, and cheese curds).

3. play a round of Settlers of Catan with the boys.

4. work in the garden planting new plants, weeding, and edging bed.

5. dinner out at my favorite Thai restaurant.

We did it all and I had a great day! I've found that I usually have too high of expectations for special days like this, and if I don't plan ahead I'm usually disappointed. Lesson learned: make a list and don't leave it up to chance!

Here are a few photos from years past on my birthday. What I find interesting is (obviously) how much the boys have changed, but also how much my hair changed from year to year!
